Just had another visit here tonight, the last one being 5 years ago. Still amazing. Not your cliche bouchon… the staff are convivial and helpful despite being busy. The food is amazing - absolutely authentic and uncompromising. Not an escargot in sight (and that’s a wonderful thing). We had a fun bottle of regional wine made by the chef: ask for it. Make a reservation and don’t mind where they seat you. Thats not the point.

Traditional Lyon cuisine that is hard to find and very comforting if you’re open to it. I tried the veal head which was succulent and tender, cooked to perfection. Portions are a good size so save room for deserts. Chef was friendly and helpful throughout the experience. Atmosphere is homely. We ate quite a lot there and you probably can’t go wrong with their specials and standard menu. Recommended to make a reservation. Places like this need to be treasured while they are still around.

Amazing experience. Wonderful service and very kind, friendly and service minded people helping us to get amazing food and have a nice evening in Lyon! The food was so tasty, there was more than enough - we were so full after our visit at Le Garet! Would highly recommend this charming and very high quality restaurant! Starter: rillette with duck with tasty bread, pickles and cornichons - amazing! “A trip around Lyon” a lot of different things that’s traditional in Lyon Main: pork and cabbage Cheese and icecream.

A friend recommended Le Garet and we are very pleased with the decision to dine there tonight. The staff was welcoming and helpful explaining traditional dishes. We arrived about 20h and we were seated upstairs. We recommend for locals and out of towners.

One must experience this once. Heavy but delicious and interesting. Friendly and reasonable. The bouchen locals recommend. The cow breast dish with parsley and garlic was particularly interesting!

Highly highly highly recommended! We went there for dinner and the rules were clear: “if you think you’re running late call us as we will give you’re table back after 10’” so we called at 7:30pm to say we’d be there at 8:00pm and again at 8:05pm to say we’d be there in 10’. 1) the service is extremely friendly and nice. They are also professional; everything was running like clockwork. 2) the food was delicious; we took a pork shoulder, a veal scaloppe and a cooked saucisson - all delicious as a desert we had the roasted figs… also a success 3) the atmosphere is great and quite authentic. For now, this is the best Bouchon I have tried!
